A Little Catch-Up...

Are you ready for the longest post of my blogging career??? Then read on...

Okay, I know I know. I've totally been procrastinating. But... I love to read other peoples' blogs. I would rather do that than write on my own. You know, I start to read a friend, of a friend, of a friend's blog, and I look at the clock and it's three hours later, and bed time. And I'm taking Jen T.'s advice (who is my new neighbor that I absolutely LOVE) and actually writing a post. So, here is what's been going on with our really awesome lives.

July 5: Flew to Boise to attend Nate's cousin Nicole's wedding. Arrived at 9:00 a.m. Went shopping in downtown Boise which actually... was better than I expected. There were some cool little shops there. We had a good time.

July 6: Nicole's wedding in the morning. Luncheon following. Very nice. And might I just mention that it was hotter than hell itself in Boise that weekend. Record breaking heat. And the luncheon was outside, under a patio, but outside nonetheless. I'm going to work extra hard to go to heaven so that I don't ever have that kind of hot misery again. And I'm from Southern California for gosh sakes, you'd think I'd be used to it. Well, I'm not. Flew back to NM at 6:oo p.m. That's right folks. We were there for 33 hours.

Nicole and the new hubby Jake the Snake. I hope he doesn't mind me calling him that, which I did, seeing that I've met him once... on the day of his wedding.
All the sisters. Aren't they gorgeous?
Nicole's flowers.
Becca. One of the sisters of the bride and maybe my spades partner in our upcoming family reunion in hell, I mean, Las Cruces, NM. Can you tell how excited I am to go to southern NM in JULY???
P.S. I love to do fun things with photos. Can you tell?

The next few pictures are really for Brooke W. If you refer to #61 on my 100 list you will note a certain story pertaining to a fight with a roommate. That roommate would be Brooke. Now Brooke, correct me if I'm wrong, but here is the story as I remember it.

One night in college (sophomore year), Shar wanted to go out, probably to hang out with some boys. And she wanted Brooke to go with her. But Brooke wanted to "study" or whatever. So Shar opened the drawer to Brooke's' dresser and started throwing Brooke's' socks at Brooke. Brooke did not like this one bit. Brooke started to get a little angry and red faced, like she would when she would get mad or embarrassed. Then they started to wrestle on Brooke's bed, Shar trying to get Brooke off the bed and out the door and Brooke trying to stay put. Then, Shar ended up beneath Brooke, in the meanwhile, Brooke tries to sit on Shar's face. At this point Shar puts up her feet to block Brooke's face sitting-on, and launches Brooke off of her unusually high bed (we had to put cinder blocks underneath our beds to boost them up so that we would have some kind of storage in that joint!). At this point, after the launching, Shar realizes that "Oh my gosh, Brooke's going to die if she hits the floor face first flying off of Brooke's unusually high bed!" So Shar grabs the lower half of Brooke's body to lessen the smashing of Brooke's face into the floor. On the way to crashing face first onto the floor, Shar hits her face on Brooke's desk and ends up looking like this...

And this is with all the blood cleaned up. (Sorry for the poor picture quality, it's a picture of a picture.) After the blood was cleaned up, and Shar realized that she wasn't going to die, or be maimed for life, Shar and Brooke could not stop laughing, and all was well in the kingdom of Colonial 408. Needless to say, they did not go out that night, and Brooke got her way. As always. And Shar got a fat lip and a swollen right nostril.
And to this day, we are still friends. That right there, that's love. Oh wait, I forgot. Oh my gosh... Brooke, I bet you were hoping I'd forget. While we were laughing so hard after the blood was cleaned up, ...........Brooke peed her pants. That's right. Right on the carpet in our bathroom. I think I laughed so hard, I might have peed a little too. Oh... the good 'ole college days.

Brooke, the next picture is for you too. You said I don't post any pictures of myself, well... here you go. This is Yoo-Hoo and me on Mother's day.

Jackie B., I told you I was gonna cut me some bangs.

P.S. Brooke please don't kill me or sit on my face for posting that you peed your pants. I do it all the time now but for entirely different reasons than laughing so hard.
(sneezing, coughing, jumping, etc.) I guess that's what having a baby will do to your bladder.

Hey Shar-bear,
You look really great in that picture of you and Brett. It's way cute. I miss you and I love reading your blog.

I love you,

This comment is for Brooke. I know I have never met you, but I would SERIOUSLY reconsider your friendship with Shar after she just announced to the world that you peed your pants. Okay, so it's impossible NOT to want to be friends with Shar, so maybe you're stuck!

Shar, thanks for the blog update, and I know I need to update mine, too. I am a lazy bum! I've been promising family and friends for weeks that I would put some pictures up of my house. But that means I would have to clean my house first to actually get the pictures!

Love your pictures. What photo editing program do you use?

Sharon--I came across your blog from Brooke's link just in time for a very funny story! I'm surprised we didn't hear all of that action going on downstairs, or maybe we did and I just don't remember?? Anyway, how are you? Last I saw you, you were married and had bought a house in Provo (??) and Brooke was pregnant with Noah. I saw that you were in Farmington, NM and was shocked! No way, I never meet people who live there! That's where my Dad's fam lives. A few minutes ago my Grandma called and I searched your blog for your husband's name and your last name--she knows him and his fam! Small world. My grandparents live there (Robert & Sandra Bliss). My uncle Ron Bliss, his wife Lynne, and 3 kids are there--he's got a family practice and Lynne is a radiologist. My aunt Vicki, her husband Brad Campbell, and their 4 kids are there--he's an ER doctor and you have a little boy so you may see him more often than you want;) My aunt Jana is there too, she graduated with your husband I guess. I'd ask where you live to see if you live by any of them but I haven't been to Farmington since I was like 15 and don't know where anything is. But we are going to be there this month on the 27-29 for my Grandparent's 50th anniversary. If we have a minute I'd love to come see you!! I think our little boys are just a couple of months apart:) ...sorry I just wrote you a novel on here...

I think you look so stinkin cute! I love the bangs....you are a cute little mamma! I can't believe the awesome pictures you take! I want you to take some professional pictures of my baby when he comes so I can hang some up! You'll have to let me know how much you charge to fly you up here, take some pictures, spend some time tubing on the snake river, and fly back. Let me know....

Alright- now it's my time to comment, muahhahaha. First of all, I love the bangs, you look gorgeous. Having said that- I actually really love this post. I am grinning ear to ear thinking of how I got revenge on you for all those times you ticked me off throughout the year(e.g. kissing the guy I had a little crush on- that's okay you were always the better flirt). I'm kidding, it was totally unintentional and one of my best college memories! And for Jen Tornow-I should be mad at Sharon for revealing to the world that I have a weak bladder but because she too pees her pants now that little yoohoo made his grand appearance- the two of us are equal and therefore no hard feelings :) Besides, how long can you really stay mad at Sharon? Love ya Shar!
