Halloweenie 2012

October 31

Oh, hi blog. Long time, no see. Actually, my blog is my home page. So, every time I open my web browser, BAM... there is my drugged up mug! So pretty AWESOME! So, I see my blog every day. I figured I better post something before some insurance agency or p0rn site hacks my blog and starts posting random crap.

For the first time ever, I let the boys pick their costumes for Halloween. I usually let them give some input, but ultimately just decide for them. But I guess this year I was being nice. Ugh. Not doing that again. They can wear themed costumes for the rest of their trick-or-treating lives like all the other kids with controlling moms. Suckas!

So, here they are:

2 Lego Ninjago Masters of Spinjitsu, Kai and Jay  (<-- I think)

and

1 Cabbage Patch doll

Aren't they cute? Of course they are.

Love her so much.
My sister helped me made Blake's wig. And she did a great job.
Just used a pre-made crocheted hat and some yarn! BOOM, got yourself a doll wig.

The boys costumes ended up being pretty easy to make.
I bought sweatpants and 2 long-sleeved shirts each. Silk-screened one and tied the other around their heads. I cut jersey knit and wrapped it around their waist and some around their legs over black socks. Which they wore in lieu of shoes to look more like ninjas. MOM OF THE YEAR. Also, they wanted their faces painted, which I thought turned out pretty weird and creepy. Lego Ninjago face FAIL.

Raggedy Ann, Lego Ninjagos, Dexter, and Cabbage Patch doll

These are the only family pictures we got. Right before costumes came off and we went to bed!

Until next year!

Coming up... Alleween Halloween party pics.
And this year's party was a BLAST!
 (but aren't they always? Yes.)

The Fourth

• 4th of July •

It's one of my favorite holidays.

This year, we spent it with good friends, family (my siblings), good food and of course, fireworks.

Here are a mixture of photos from my crappy point-and-shoot and from Jessie.
Love this little stinker!

Gaby, 9 months pregnant.

My sister, Shelley, and moi.
Do you like Flock of Seagulls? My hair sure does! (name that movie)

My sister and I made and brought some goodies to the party.

Banana creme filled sprinkled cupcakes, with a cherry on top, chocolate covered Oreos, and chocolate-dipped pretzels.

B for Brett and Burke. Awww. How cute.

It's supposed to say Shar, but obviously I don't know how to make a backwards a. It's harder than it looks.
My sis and bro-in-law. A heart. How sweet.
The End!

Not Hawaii

Brett thought we were going to Hawaii, but we really went to Seattle and the Oregon coast. It was beautiful!
We went to Pike Place Market, which was the bomb. I wish I had one of these down the street.
Fresh fruit and veggies every where. Yum. My favorite were the cherries. The yellow-ish/red-ish ones. One lady has these pretty bunches of lavender. And every time I hear the word lavender, I think of none else... than Black Lavender. And Bobby Light.
Oh Yeah!
Arrrr!
Brett and his buddy/cousin Christian standing in front of the very first Starbucks.
Cheese!
Crude humor... that's how our family rolls.
In Cannon Beach, OR. Doesn't it remind you of The Goonies? Probably because some of it was filmed there.Nate's family reunion was in Lincoln City, OR this year. There were over 100 people there. The fam is getting big!

Things I learned while being in downtown Seattle:
If I moved there, I would have to a) start drinking coffee, probably Starbucks because there are only a hundred million in the downtown area b) start smoking c) bust out my thick-rimmed glasses and wear them. oh and d) be a hippie. Looks like I won't EVER be moving there. But the food was the bomb!

Things I learned while being in Oregon:
a) People love dogs more than humans, b) lots of hotels are pet-friendly. Which is probably why our room smelled like wet dog. I'm pretty sure the people who stayed in our room before us let their smelly wet-ass dog wipe it's smelly wet-ass body all over EVERYTHING. Yum. c) Oregon is cold. COLD. I was wearing a sweatshirt in July. In the middle of the summer. d) Although beautiful, Oregon is not the place to go to the beach. Like I said in c)... Oregon is cold. If you want to go to the beach, go to California, Hawaii or the Caribbean. Where it actually feels like the beach and not the icy Tundra. and e) there were a ton of hippies. Looks like I won't ever be moving there BUT I had the best clam chowder I ever had in my life. Oh yeah!

Where was your family reunion this year?
(Because I need some good ideas, we might be doing the next one)
