So, the 1st Annual Alleween Halloween party invites are OUT! I was worried about them not getting out on time because of our plague, but they are done and I think everybody has received them. I'm am way excited and am constantly planning things in my head and then talking about them to anybody that will listen. It's usually Jen. Sorry Jen. BUT, it's a costume party for "Grown-Up's ONLY". I didn't want to put on the invitation "1st Annual Adult Alleween Halloween Party", that sounded a little too "porn-ish". So, it's no kids so it should be a lot of fun.
I have 19 days to keep on planning. I'd love ANY suggestions for what you think makes a GREAT party! Send them my way.
Secondly, yesterday I should have worn this:
... because that's what I looked like ALL day. White Trash. No shower, greasy hair, gray pajamas and slippers. Double-U Tee.
Jen and Derrick were over the other day and we were talking about what they were going to wear to the "Adult" Alleween party. Derrick says he came across some dirty costumes online, and then we all started talking about dirty costumes. He said he came across this one where the guy was dressed as the "plug" and the girl was dressed as the "socket".
We started laughing about it, but what made it REALLY funny, is that Nate and I TOTALLY WORE THAT TO OUR FIRST TRUNK OR TREAT, IN OUR NEW WARD, RIGHT AFTER WE WERE MARRIED. And the kicker? For some reason, we didn't realize it was a dirty costume until after we got there, and we got all these sexual comments from people whom we had never met. Like, "Ooh, can I borrow that for later?" and the like. So, we were forever known after that as the "dirty/perverted" couple. Fine with me. But I'm still confused as to why we didn't think it was dirty before we put it on and drove to the church. Beats me.
We still have the costume if anyone wants to wear it to their first Trunk or Treat in their new ward, and definitely ensure that they don't get a "good" calling. (And by "good" I mean one of those callings that take up all your time) Worked for us.
So Nate and I got new company cars this weekend. In the 40 miles that I've put on my car since I've had it, I've managed to run over a screw. We went out Saturday morning to run errands and the tire is totally flat.
Damn. For the record, in my 9-plus years of driving, I've never run over a screw, or anything that would flatten my tire, (I've run over a lot of crap on those California freeways) and I've done it in the 40 miles that I've driven around town.
Well, I love it anyway. I'd love it even more if I actually got to drive it. With 4 full tires.

totally jealous about the Alleween party...wish I could come! I have a TON of ideas for a cool party...but i'm sure you're good to go already. I can't wait to see pictures.
That plug and socket costume cracks me up and is something I would totally wear! My ward here would crap a brick if we wore that though! hmmm...all the more reason to wear it right? :D

I am glad that you are alive. I was starting to get worried after I hadn't seen a new post for over a WEEK! I am sad that we won't be able to make it to your first annual Alleween Halloween party. It sounds way fun. Cute invites by the way. Good luck on all the planning...I hope we will get to atleast see pictures from it.

That so funny that you guys did not see that it was dirty until you got there! Ohhhh..... so pure and innocent! Ha! Oh, I have a problem! I have a wedding to shoot the night of the party and did not realize until yesterday! How long will the party last cause I really want to go! Zeke said he would go without me! I have to stay for 2 hours so when I find out when it starts I will let you know. LOVE the invites!

Weren't you at BYU? Even better! I have to say I'm surprised that you didn't think of the sexual insinuation though;)
Sharon...o.k. it's almost 10p.m. and I'm about to retire but I must say that is THE funniest thing I have heard all day--all week really!! Why didn't we hear about that sooner??! Maybe we should borrow your costume for our ward "Trunk or Treat"--ha...make our Bishop think twice about his new counselor!!!!! Happy Anniversary and darling invites!!
