We're sitting last night watching the Olympics with Nate's aunt and uncle who are visiting from Pennsylvania.
We were watching the girls gymnastics balance beam competition. When the little Chinese girl fell off, Nate's aunt Mary (who is Chinese) says with the straightest face ever, "Oh great. Now they're going to kill her family."
And then Nate's uncle Steve starts talking in Mandarin like he's her coach. Telling her he's going to chop her fingers off.
{sigh} I wished they lived closer.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! oh my gosh, i seriously laughed out loud when i read that. i think that everytime one of the chinese girls mess up, but it is freaking hilarious to hear it from an actual chinese person! that seriously made my whole day. so funny...and hopefully untrue...
I've been saying stuff like that this entire games. Paul and I were making comments when the gymnastic girls mess up like "now she has to go back in the locker room and burn herself because she's shamed her country", or "her family's house just got set on fire".

seeing as how bret is goneon ICU rotations at night I make those jokes to myself...yes, I litterally say them out loud and then giggle profusely with a slight snicker at the funny I just made...wow...

The pictures from the shower are soooo great! You are so amazing, Sharon. I love taking advantage of people who are great photographers but do it as a hobby, (ie. Chante, Anne, YOU). I wish you lived here so I could take advantage of you. Maybe next time you come we could make an appointment with you. I wish I had taken advantage of you in California. (Have I said taken advantage of you a million times? There's no other way to say it!)
Anyway, you're so fun and it was so good to see you while you were here. I hope to spend more time with you because you're a blast.
