The Itsy Bitsy Spider Crawled Down on Sharon's Face!

Well, we are finally in Farmington and are still in the process of unpacking our belongings. We spent 5 days in Las Vegas on a "business trip", but it was more of a "shop till we drop" trip. We went to the ShoWest Theater Convention for theater owners. It was okay. I saw Larry the Cable Guy, he was walking in front of me...I actually smelled him first before I realized who it was. (His B.O. about killed me!) Nate met and got an autograph from Shia LeBoeuf, the kid from "Holes" and the upcoming "Transformers." We had a good time, but I am so glad to be home! My feet were hurting and Brett was just not happy to be in Las Vegas any more.

So, I am home doing all of our "vacation laundry", which there is always a mountain of, and trying to get Brett's room unpacked so that he won't have to sleep in our bed, because we've been too lazy to put up his. Nate and I didn't sleep very well last night. Not because Brett was in our bed, but we had a really horrible encounter with a spider. So, I stayed up till about 12:30 last night watching "March of the Penguins", because I had never seen it. I turn out the lights to go to bed and I'm laying on my pillow about to close my eyes and I look up and see something dark hanging in the air, slowly moving toward my face. After about 1.5 seconds I realized it was a spider and I jumped out of bed like white lightning (which scared Nate half to death) and opened up the sheets to see if I could see anything in our bed crawling around. Nate, jumps up and asks what the (heck) I'm doing. I told him I know that there is a spider in our bed. We then looked up to see this spider, crawling into the ceiling vent RIGHT ABOVE MY HEAD!!! So, I told him that I was going to be awake all night unless we somehow got him out and killed him. So, we turn on the air conditioner hooping maybe that he would just fly out and we could squash him, but he doesnt. He eventually crawls out and Nate starts throwing rolled up socks trying to knock him down. (our ceilings are 14 feet high) So finally Nate hits him and he flys on the sock and lands on my side of the bed. My job was supposed to be watching the spider and kill him when he fell on the floor. Well, I saw him fall and on the floor and I grabbed a towel to kill him, and he just disappeared like Houdini. So, to make this long story a little bit longer, we never found him and we slept with our eyes open, because we know for sure this GIANT (probably about the size of a pencil eraser) spider will come and eat our faces in our sleep. And bring some of his cousins to help.

That... was quite amusing! I am sure the spider had a good laugh while telling his cousins about his encounter with two sleeping giants (<- in his perspective)

I take comfort in the fact that I am not talking to myself! And, I have to say I am completely flattered that you are interested in my life. (I check your blog about twice a day as well!)
