We had a great week and we are exhausted. Sitting on the beach and drinking pina coladas is a lot of work.
I'm excited to be coming home. I miss my cutie pie! I should have had my mom Fed-Ex him to me (overnight, of course) and I could have stayed another month.
Leaving Brett was surprisingly easier than I thought it would be. I only cried a little bit. But I'm so excited to see him. I hope he remembers me.
How was the first time leaving your kid(s)?
How much does the Miami airport suck? Answer... a whole lot.

Sitting on the beach IS exhausting!! That sun can kill you.
Wanna' hear how pitiful I am? I was married for nearly 13 years before I left my kids...for ONE night! I thought about them every minute I was gone. When I came home, I wished I was gone, again. Next time will be much easier - I hope.
I love reading your posts, you are so funny:) I wonder the same thing about "interesting" people I see sometimes. Then again, I probably don't want to know what they think of me! (I don't smell bad but I sure get some looks of "oh no" when I bring 2 kids on a plane) I'm glad you had fun on your vacation--hard work, but somebody has to do it, right?! Wait until you have 2 kids, you will really be dying to get away. Kate couldn't care less if I go away for a few days. My momma's boy freaks out if I leave his view. I love my kids but I LOVE to get away and enjoy the freedom of sleeping when I want, not chasing kids, and all those little joys of being a mom.
Can I say I'm totally jealous of your vacation!!!!! Wow, Lucky you! I bet it will be so good to see Brett! When we first left Ciella, Garrett made fun of me for being sad, then when we got home, he pushed me out of the way and ran towards the house to be the first to get her! It made me happy!
I suck as a mom and didn't miss Gwen at all (Morgan started crying for her the first day we were gone). I just enjoy the "time off" and look for any moment to ditch her. Yes, I'm mean and insensitive, and selfish.
Sounds so romantic! Can't wait for the pictures. The first time we left Noah was last October and I agree with you, that it was surprisingly easier than I thought. I just kept justifying my guilty feelings of leaving him by saying that Cody and I need alone time.. happy parents make a happy family :) How are things going these days Shar?
I had a friggin' heart attack leaving Brecky for the weekend of our anniversary. But I'm hoping to be able to leave 'both' my babies next time around and go to the jewelry show with the girls!
OUr first time really leaving Kyesun was so overwhelming! We had let him stay at my moms house over night which was not bad. But when we went to Italy last year it was for 2 and a half weeks. and I was so excited to see him when we got back. It was nicer that I got to talk to him on the phone.
Love ethat pic...your toes rock!
Airport watching in general is awesome...lots of weirdos that you pray aren't on your flight :)
I left my girls for the first time when I flew to Utah to photograph a wedding...it was hard and I missed them and cried...however, I know I would miss them and shed a few tears if I was going to some exotic location without them, but I'd totally survive :)
Can't wait to see pics!
we have not left J for a vacation since we got married 2 yrs ago and ummm yeah she is 12. i think it is mostly guilt, she loves to travel so taking her with us is kind of fun. we do a lot of traveling with my inlaws so it works out to have them with us so we can take off and do our thing alone....since they love it when we leave J with them to SPOIL!
but i ReALLY need a vacation with just my honey!
you're a clever girl! i'm bookmarking you! :)
leaving ava wasn't horrible. i mean, it was, because i cried for the hour before we left and the five minutes driving away. . .and the rest of that day ryan made fun of me because i looked like a deer caught in headlights.
i had fun. i was relaxed. i read in the sunshine for hours on end and no one bothered me. it was awesome.
