Nate's sweet grandpa passed away this last week and his funeral was yesterday. He was 90-years-old! It was such a bittersweet death. We will miss him, but he is definitely in a better place.
The funeral was amazing. Since he was a WWII vet, he had a military funeral. It was so neat. They had a 21 gun salute, and some old guy played the bugle.

He had a beautiful American flag that covered his coffin. They folded it all military style into a triangle and gave it to his wife, Nate's grandma.
That was the most emotional part of the day for me.
We had some family come into town and stay with us. Trent and Ange and kids, and Andrew and Lucy, who all left today. Now our house seems so quite. We had a blast while they were here.Nothing brings families close together like weddings and funerals. I definitely prefer the weddings.

i am so sorry to hear about this. it is always sad to lose a loved one, no matter how long and full their life was.
my grandpa, who passed in Nov., was a vet too and when they handed my Mima his flag...the tears fell HARD!

I hope you had a wonderful Mothers Day. You're such a hottie of a mom :)
Not fun...sorry to hear of your loss. Zach's great grandma passed away last week and even though I didn't know her too well it was super emotional. And who doesn't love weddings...
i never met his grandpa but have met his grandma and she was amazing so i can only imagine he was too. what a wonderful memory.
i will have to say the feelings you have that day will never be forgotten - what wonderful stories to tell your son.

Shar,
I love the pic's from the funeral...you're amazing! Thank you so much for letting us come stay at your darling house!! Girl's time-outs, cabin, birthday party, scrumptious Mother's Day brunch, cutting two crazy monkey's hair in the tub was all a hoot! I'm so glad we got the kids together. Christian kept saying, "Baby???" all the way home! It was cute to know he already missed his Bubba buddy!
Thanks again!
Ang
